Adobe has decided to discontinue its efforts to create a web design product that could compete with Figma Inc. after proposed acquisition of Figma deal collapsed

The company has stated that it has no plans to invest further in the XD program, and that future product design features will be developed through partnerships.

The proposed acquisition of Figma by Adobe, which was valued at $20 billion, fell apart in December due to regulatory pressure. As a result of the failed acquisition, Adobe put its competing program, XD, in “maintenance mode,” halting the launch of new features and individual sales.

It remains uncertain whether Adobe will revive XD or pursue the development of another competitor to Figma.
